Canadian Lutheran World Relief is appealing for support to respond to the humanitarian emergency unfolding in Gaza.
CLWR is seeking to provide critical life-saving aid in Gaza where estimates indicate that nearly 2 million people are displaced and over 41,000 have been killed in Gaza.
Our partners have been responding since early in the crisis, providing emergency financial support to families affected by the crisis. Hundreds of families have been selected carefully based on need, with a focus on women-headed households. Your gifts will go towards providing cash for basic needs, restoring basic water and sanitation services, shelter, and critical supplies including kitchen sets, bedding and hygiene supplies.Your gifts will also go towards the maintenance of three communal shelters that are housing large numbers of displaced people who lack access to functional hygiene and sanitation facilities.
The dedicated staff and faculty members of CLWR's GRIT project, which helps women and people with disabilities in the West Bank achieve their learning and employment goals, have worked to transition to remote classrooms and provide extra care for students. CLWR partners are also providing emergency care and maintaining the vital operations of Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. and the GRIT technical educationn program.
CLWR continues its call for all sides in the conflict to protect civilian lives and allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need as quickly as possible.
