Fikre Tsehai Internship Fund
CLWR’s Fikre Tsehai Internship Fund was launched in 2025 to honour the leadership and legacy of Dr. Fikre Mariam Tsehai in refugee rights and humanitarian work. The fund supports paid internships at CLWR for people who have recently arrived in Canada as refugees or through special humanitarian pathways and who are looking to build a new career here. Interns work from one of CLWR’s Canadian offices (currently in British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario) in areas such as programs, operations, finance, communications, church relations or donor services, gaining Canadian work experience, mentoring and a bridge into long-term employment in fields connected to CLWR’s mission.
Internships are intended for those with some amount of education or experience in areas relevant to CLWR’s work who are looking to establish careers in Canada. To express interest in an internship through the fund, please send an email to hr@clwr.org with the subject line “Fikre Tsehai Internship Fund”, along with your resume and cover letter explaining how you meet the eligibility criteria (for example, your refugee or humanitarian pathway to Canada within the last three years), your skills or education, and why you’d like to intern with CLWR. Internships may be part-time or full-time and usually last between three and twelve months.
